Vista Aircraft Maintenance is seeking a Line Service Technician to join our team in Van Nuys, CA. As a Line Service Technician, you will support aircraft operations and provide essential ground services for inbound and outbound aircraft. This hands-on position works closely with flight crews, passengers, charter, aircraft maintenance and facilities teams, and other operational partners in a fast-paced aviation environment.
Vista Aircraft Maintenance is the in-house maintenance provider for Vista Members’ unrivaled fleet of over 300 aircraft worldwide, including light, super mid-size, long-range, and ultra-long-range models, with maintenance hubs strategically located across the U.S. and Europe. This is a full-time, onsite position, reporting to the Line Service Manager. The salary range for this position is $25.00-$28.00 per hour.
Job Responsibilities
- Marshall, wing-walk, tow, fuel, and de-fuel aircraft in accordance with company procedures and ATA 103 standards.
- Perform aircraft servicing, including lavatory and potable water service, baggage handling, interior/exterior cleaning, and pre- and post-flight support.
- Conduct daily ramp checks, scheduled inspections, audits, and checklists to ensure aircraft and ramp areas remain safe, secure, and operational.
- Complete required training for towing, ramp operations, ramp planning, off-campus towing, NATA Safety First, and other job-related programs.
- Operate, inspect, and perform basic maintenance on ground support equipment.
- Maintain awareness and control of ramp activity by safely directing people, drivers, vehicles, and flight crews.
- Support facility operations and other departments as needed, including cleaning and general operational tasks.
- Provide basic security for people and property while maintaining a strong focus on safety, service, and operational efficiency.
Required Education & Experience
- Valid driver's license; restricted licenses are not eligible for employment with VAM.
- Ability to successfully complete required pre-employment Drug & Alcohol testing, background checks, and ongoing testing as applicable.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact professionally with pilots, flight crews, customers, and team members.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment, work independently, and safely manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as required.
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions and performing hands-on, physically demanding work.
- Aviation, ramp, line service, fueling, or ground support experience is preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and move baggage and equipment weighing up to 75 pounds, including overhead.
- Ability to climb ladders, tugs, fuel trucks, and scissor lifts.
- Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and work beneath aircraft wings.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and run when operationally required.
- Good hand-eye coordination, peripheral vision, and ability to safely operate ground support equipment.
