Overview

Vista Aircraft Maintenance is seeking to hire a Lead Maintenance Technician for our Part 145 Repair Station in Van Nuys, CA. The Lead Maintenance Technician reports to the Maintenance Manager and provies leadership to a team of technicians. They will provide technical assistance and labor for any and all problems associated with aircraft repairs as well as coordinate with the aircraft maintenance supervisors to ensure safe and efficient repair and timely return to service of the aircraft.

 

Vista Aircraft Maintenance is the in-house maintenance provider for the Vista Members’ fleet, which comprises an unrivalled fleet of light, super mid-size, long-range and ultra-long-range aircraft. Vista Aircraft Maintenance has multiple maintenance hubs strategically located across the U.S. and Europe. Vista Aircraft Maintenance offers a robust regional support network for Vista’s growing fleet, with one of the leading base maintenance facilities in the world.

 

The salary range for this position is $36 to $60+ per hour.

 

 Your Responsibilities: 

  • Ensure tasks assigned by Aircraft Maintenance Supervisor are carried out by the team in an efficient manner.
  • Communicate with customers as to status of aircraft maintenance
  • Coordinate with parts department to ensure that all materials are in stock or on order to complete the project on time.
  • Open work orders and build maintenance books as required.
  • Provide inspection support as authorized by Chief Inspector.
  • Perform inspections, maintenance and troubleshooting of aircraft systems.
  • Maintain and/or repair shop facility, equipment and tooling to support operations.

 Required Experience, Qualifications, and Education: 

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Airframe & Power Plant Certification (A&P) Required
  • Have at least 5+ years of relevant experience working in a Part 145 environment, Part 135 experience is a plus
  • Experience resolving complex problems and guiding others
  • Full set of professional-grade aircraft maintenance tools 
  • Strong troubleshooting ability (mechanical & electrical systems)
  • Skilled in interpreting AMM, SRM, IPC, and related manuals 
  • Experience entering maintenance entries into Corrido or similar systems
  • Competence in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Understanding of shadow box/ FOD prevention practices
  • Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening, fBI fingerprinting, and 10-year background check
  • Must possess excellent written and verbal communications skills in the English language
